A Closer Look at Your Oil Tank
Choose Charlton Oil Co Inc for prompt and accurate oil tank inspections. Oil tanks should be inspected on a regular basis, and we are required to do so, making sure that there is no rust, leaks, corrosion of tank or tank legs, as these issues could pose a potential hazard to you and your family.

In most cases, you will find that you have an oil storage tank that will hold 275 gallons of oil. A normal fill of a standard tank will usually include anywhere from 245 - 260 gallons, (this accounts for air and debris on the bottom of the tank).
When a driver fills your tank they will hear a whistle sound, once the whistle stops the driver must turn off the pump. This indicates that the tank is full, and pumping should be stopped immediately.
Please note that if no whistle sound is heard our drivers are instructed not to fill, as this could cause major problems, such as spills which would not be good for you, the customer, or us! If your system needs a vent whistle installed, we can provide that service as well!
